How does Status Monitor work?

Status Monitor continuously checks the official platform status every 5 minutes and combines it with user-reported outage data from DownDetector. When issues are detected, you'll receive instant notifications via email or Slack.
What types of notifications will I receive?

You'll receive notifications for:
- Official platform status changes (operational → issues)
- User-reported outage spikes from DownDetector
- Service restorations (issues → operational)
- Component-specific problems (checkout, admin, API, etc.)
How do I set up notifications?

After installing the app:
- Go to your app dashboard
- Enable email and/or Slack notifications
- Enter your email address or Slack webhook URL
- Test your notifications to ensure they work
- You're all set! Notifications are automatic from then on.
Is my data secure?

Yes! We only store your store domain, notification preferences, and status history. We never access your customer data, products, or orders. All data is encrypted and stored securely. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Can I customize which alerts I receive?

Currently, the app sends alerts for all detected status changes to ensure you don't miss critical outages. We're working on customizable alert filters for future updates.
How much does it cost?

Status Monitor is currently free to use for all stores. We may introduce premium features in the future, but basic status monitoring will always remain free.
What if I'm not receiving notifications?

Try these troubleshooting steps:
- Check your notification settings in the app dashboard
- Verify your email address or Slack webhook URL is correct
- Use the "Test Notification" button to verify delivery
- Check your spam/junk folder for emails
- Contact support if issues persist
How do I uninstall the app?

To uninstall Status Monitor:
- Go to your admin → Apps
- Find "Status Monitor" in your installed apps
- Click "Delete" or "Uninstall"
- Confirm the uninstallation
🔧 Troubleshooting
App Not Loading
- Clear your browser cache and cookies
- Try opening the app in an incognito/private window
- Ensure you're using a supported browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge)
- Contact support if the issue persists
Missing Status History
- Status history begins from when you first install the app
- Historical data from before installation is not available
- Check back after a few hours of having the app installed
